FAQs

What Is an Instagram Access Token?

An Instagram Access Token is a unique key that allows IG Connect 2 to securely access Instagram data on behalf of a user. The token is created when a user authorizes access to their Instagram account, granting temporary permission for interaction with Instagram’s API. This process ensures data security and user consent.

What Are the Requirements to Generate an Access Token?

To generate an access token, you need the following:

1. Instagram Account Login Access
Displaying media outside of Instagram requires user permission through an access token (a unique key).

  • You must log in to the Instagram account at instagram.com to verify permission and generate an access token.
  • IG Connect 2 or 1LD will never require you to supply an account’s login credentials.

2. A Professional Instagram Account
Access tokens can only be generated for professional Instagram accounts.

  • Professional accounts are free.
  • Personal accounts will be prompted to convert during the token generation process.

Who Can Generate an Access Token?

You can either generate the token yourself or request assistance from 1LD. Here’s how:

Manual Generation (Recommended):

  • Create a Facebook Developer Account and follow a simple, codeless step-by-step process.
  • Use your developer account to instantly generate an access token.
  • Once set up, you can generate tokens for multiple Instagram accounts without repeating the setup process.

Generation via 1LD:

  • Contact 1LD support and provide the name of the Instagram account to connect.
  • 1LD will send an invite to the specified Instagram account within 1-2 business days.
  • Log in to the Instagram account and accept the invite.
  • Use 1LD’s generator to create the token.
  • This process must be repeated for every new Instagram account you wish to connect.

How Often Must New Access Tokens be Generated?

Access tokens must be refreshed every 60 days to maintain permissions.

  • IG Connect handles this automatically by refreshing the token whenever the page is viewed.
  • In the rare case the page is not viewed/previewed by a single visitor or administrator in 60 days, the token will expire, and new posts will no longer display.
  • To resolve this, simply generate a new token and replace the expired one.

Live Search 2

Live Search 2 has been updated with new features, improvements, and important bug fixes – all designed to make your site’s search experience even faster and more precise.

This update is free and automatic for all existing customers.

Don’t own it yet? Now’s the perfect time to jump in — Live Search 2 is 30% off for a limited time! No code needed — your discount is automatically applied at checkout.

New Features:

  • Added support for exact match searches using quotation marks around parts of a search phrase.
  • New option to show a “Clear Input” button.
  • Added Replace Character feature.
  • Now supports two separately defined search bars on the same page.
  • New option to adjust z-index.

Improvements:

  • Index file generation now detects and ignores duplicate content, such as text found in every page header and footer.
  • If any pages are missing from the index file, they will now still be searched dynamically.
  • Index file data is now compressed to reduce file size.
  • Pages at https://website/folder/index.(php|html) and https://website/folder/ are now treated as duplicates and will not be indexed separately.
  • Search results container height now only stays fixed during pagination — it will shrink dynamically for new searches.
  • When searching custom sitemaps, the default sitemap will now be ignored.
  • The popout search results container will now automatically hide when the search input is empty.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue that prevented custom text/language settings from applying correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where result descriptions could fail to display a local section title.
  • Fixed a bug that could trigger an error if suggestions were enabled but the stack was not published to the page.
  • Prevents form submission before the page is fully loaded, avoiding unwanted page refreshes on slow-loading pages. A loading indicator is shown until the page is ready.

Check it out in action!
