Making Buttons Clearer Without Making Them Louder
By Elena Morales — 25th April, 2026Button clarity is not only about color or size. Often, the label and placement do more work than the visual treatment.
Use verbs that describe the action: book, save, send, download, compare, or continue. Labels like "Click Here" and "Submit" often hide the real outcome.
Hierarchy matters too. If every button is visually urgent, none of them are. Give the primary action emphasis and let secondary actions stay quieter.
Clear buttons help people move with confidence. They should make the next step obvious without shouting for attention.
